I am interested in how healthy aging and age-related diseases impact motor control and somatosensory processing. Specifically, I am interested in how biological markers of aging (e.g., oxidative stress and mitochondrial function) influence neural oscillatory activity serving cognitive and sensorimotor function and potentially index instances of accelerated aging. Additionally, I use non-invasive brain stimulation techniques such as transcranial direct/alternating current stimulation (tDCS/tACS) to study the discrete oscillatory mechanisms serving healthy and aberrant sensorimotor function. Ultimately, I strive to create individually-tuned stimulation parameters to optimize behavioral performance in healthy and disease populations.
